In 2015, he began researching a novel based on the history of Connacht during the 16th century. Centring on two leading Gaelic figures of the time. In 2024, he finished his second novel. “Grace and Richard: the last of the chieftains;” chronicles the story of two Gaelic leaders who were also a married couple. Grace O’Malley, a spectacularly independent woman and her husband Richard the Iron Bourke. Together, they battled to save their clans from the encroaching fury of an expansionist Tudor state. This is a true account of a dramatic clash of cultures in 16th century Ireland.
